Massage therapy not only feels great, but it also reduces muscle stress, tension, fatigue, pain and increases circulation and well being.
Massage is the systematic manual or mechanical manipulation
of soft tissues of the body --- by such movements as rubbing,
kneading, pressing, rolling, slapping, and tapping --- for
therapeutic purposes such as stretching muscles that atrophy
from lack of use, promoting blood circulation, muscle relaxation,
pain relief, metabolic balance, and other benefits both physical
and mental.
How often should I get a massage?
If your complaint is acute (injury or pain occurred today
or yesterday) ice should be applied right away to decrease
inflammation. DO NOT USE HEAT FOR 48 HOURS AFTER AN INITIAL
INJURY. Massage can then be administered after that time period
to decrease hypertonicity and pain.
If your complaint is chronic (pain that you experience for
weeks, month to years) massage therapy can be administered
once a month or as often as needed up to 3 times a week to decrease the
constant symptoms.
Discounts are available when purchasing
multiple massages at one time to allow the client to ease
their muscle pain on a regular basis without hurting their
wallet.
We highly recommend adding Chiropractic care to your massage regimen. Massage is wonderful for
your aching muscles, but don’t neglect your internal
structure that holds everything erect (your spine). Receiving
a massage without Chiropractic care is like washing the outside
of your vehicle and never changing the oil. You will have
a bright, shiny car that doesn’t run efficiently. A
massage will ease your muscle pain for a length of time, but
if your internal structure (your spine) is even slightly misaligned,
it will repeatedly put stress on the surrounding muscles,
causing you unwanted symptoms or pain that can easily be treated
with Chiropractic care.
